How we defined the region

Our journey began by clearly defining and unifing what we believe is a single, cohesive region centered around Lebec, California. After much thought and exploration, we drew our boundary as an approximate 20-mile radius around Lebec, capturing the full spirit and geography of the area. This area includes:

  • To the south: the shores of Pyramid Lake. (part of what we refer to as the Midlands region)

  • To the north: the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon, The Tejon Outlets, Grapevine, Wheeler Gorge, Northern Lebec & Mettler. (the Foothills region)

  • To the west: the alpine peaks of Mount Pinos and the forested community of Pine Mountain Club, Lockwood Valley, Lake of the Woods, Frazier Park & the future Tejon Mountain Village (the Highlands region)

  • To the east: the high desert stretches along the Highway 138 corridor to the community of Neenack, CA, including Quail Lake and the future Centennial development at Tejon Ranch. (the high desert region)

The Frazier-Tejon region is where 3 counties (Kern, Los Angeles, and Ventura), 3 mountain ranges (San Emigdio, Sierra Pelona, and Tehachapi), and 2 national forests (Los Padres and Angeles) all converge within this 20-mile radius. This rare geographical meeting point gives the area its unmatched blend of rugged beauty, cultural richness, and natural diversity. The Frazier-Tejon region is uniquely positioned with easy access to three of California’s largest cities, all within a 45-minute drive.

How we named the region

We needed a name that honored both tradition and recognition. Frazier-Tejon was born by merging two of the most well-known and meaningful place names in the area: Frazier (as in Frazier Mountain, Frazier Park and the Frazier Mountain communities) and Tejon (as in Tejon Ranch, Tejon Pass, Ft. Tejon and the area's historical roots). Together, they form a name that feels grounded, familiar, and forward-looking.

This website is the next chapter in that journey—a place where we can share everything that makes this region remarkable. , our goal is to highlight the best of what already exists today, what makes this area desirable and what’s coming tomorrow.

We are run by local residents, passionate about where we live and excited about what's to come. Our insights are all genuine, our recommendations are authentic, and our purpose is clear: to promote the region we love.
